January 2002 Happenings

A 1917 store ledger/journal was donated by Jake FaFluer

Two invitations were extended to the BH&PS.  One from the Blackstone River National Heritage Corridor ($25 per person), the second from the Woonsocket Museum of Work and Culture ($50 per person).

So far at least 60 glass negatives have been developed.

An overview was given of the Newspaper Clippings Project that Betty and Mabel have been working on since April 2001.  They have started indivdual notebooks on a number of different topics including:

    The Mills
    Burrillville Grammar Schools
    Burrillville High School
    Catholic Churches
    Protestant Churches
    Hurricanes, Floods
    Blizzards
    Interesting People
    Burrillville Histories
    Austin T. Levy
    Automobiles
Old receipts, documents, business cards, etc.

Suggestions were made to start a book on Burrillville sports, fire departments and historic houses.  Articles, pictures, etc. are needed to start these notebooks.
